Summer tour to the Kola Peninsula “Night Sun”

EXCURSION TO THE SAMI

Arrival of the group members, self check-in at the hotel. Excursion to the reindeer and the indigenous people of the North.

12:15 – 12:30 – gathering of participants of the tour to the addresses

12:30 – a trip to the Sami village.

14:00 – 15:00 – acquaintance with the Sami culture begins with the arrival of guests in the territory of the Sami village. We will look at traditional Sami homes, hear stories about Sami culture, customs, beliefs, as well as the legends of this people.

15:00 – 15:30 – in this part of the program we will see real reindeers, feed them with reindeer moss, take unique selfies with these friendly creatures and hear a story about the features of their breeding and lifestyle.

15:30 – 17:00 – Sami lunch (salmon soup, tea, bread) or a tea party with berry pies.

17:00 – 18:00 – return to Murmansk.

18:00 – free time or departure for an excursion “Midnight Sun”, under favorable weather conditions.

TRIP TO KHIBA MOUNTAINS

Excursion to the largest and most beautiful mountain range of the Kola Peninsula, whose age is more than 350 million years.

09:45 – 10:00 – Collection of participants of the tour to the addresses.

10:00 – 13:30 – In this part of the program, we will examine the current quarry in which minerals are mined openly, take a walk to the largest lake of the Kola Peninsula of Imandra, visit the city of Apatity, next to which there is a mineral processing plant sending raw materials in Russia and in many countries of the world. We will also visit the city of Kirovsk, where famous Soviet and Russian films were shot and where the popular ski resort is located.

13:30 – 14:30 – lunch in Kirovsk.

14:30 – 18:00 – Walk in the valley of the Khibiny mountains to the lake Small Vudyavr. We find ourselves in the center of a large valley, which is surrounded on all sides by mountain peaks of different shapes and heights. Our path will run along a real mountain stream with crystal clear and clear water. We will climb a small mountain plateau, from where a magnificent panoramic view of the mountains opens, which lovers of good landscapes will appreciate.

Next, a small sightseeing tour of the mining village of the 25th Kilometer, where you can sometimes see real miners right on the streets, and also see the structures of the Kirov mine.

Visiting the mining and mineralogical museum, visiting a unique collection of stones and minerals from around the world, the age of some exhibits is 90 million years!

18:00 – departure to Murmansk.

20:00 – free time or departure for an excursion “Midnight Sun”, under favorable weather conditions.

EXCURSION ON THE COAST OF THE NORTHERN ARCTIC OCEAN (TERIBERKA)

A trip to the legendary northern village, located on the very edge of the earth, in recent years has become a place of pilgrimage for tourists from around the world

08:00 – 08:30 – gathering of participants of the tour to the addresses

08:30 – 10:30 – Journey to Teriberka begins from Murmansk and passes along the Arctic tundra – a vast area in the north of Russia, Canada and Greenland, where there is completely no vegetation in the form of trees. Along the way, we will see the Poklonnaya Cross, Seyd – a stone of mysterious origin, in which, according to Sami beliefs, the spirit of the deceased shaman and landscapes resembling the Norwegian fjords live

10:30 – 12:30 – Tour of the village of Teriberka. The place became known thanks to the filming of the picture “Leviathan”, which was nominated for an Oscar in 2014. Abandoned fishing huts and life of local residents

12:30 – 13:30 – lunch in a cafe

13:30 – 15:00 – we will make a stop at the cemetery of old abandoned ships scuttled in a small bay, take a walk along the coast and visit a picturesque waterfall that flows into the Arctic Ocean. Let’s take great selfies on a cliff of a steep cliff going into the depths of the sea

15:00 – departure to Murmansk

17:00 – arrival in Murmansk, end of the tour

A polar day along with the northern lights is another unique natural phenomenon of the north. From May 22 to July 22, our guests can enjoy the sun setting over the horizon, even at night.

 20.00 – 22.00 – Departure time for the excursion (depending on weather conditions)

We will go to one of the most beautiful places of the Kola Peninsula to meet there the Midnight Sun. Northern nature on the Kola Peninsula at this time is amazingly beautiful.
