Excursion Kaliningrad “Extraction of Amber”

At the westernmost point of Russia, we will have a sightseeing tour of the historical center of Baltiysk, including a tour of the Pillau fortress, the monument to Peter I, the current lighthouse of the famous architect Shinkel, the Orthodox St. George’s Sea Cathedral (former reformist church), and a walk along the embankment to Elizabeth Fort . We will also see warships that serve in the Baltic Sea.

During an excursion to the village of Yantarny, we are expected to visit the observation deck of the world’s largest Primorsky amber deposit, where sunstone is mined industrially. A panorama of the quarry from a height of fifty meters opens from the site. Here is the “Amber Pyramid”, created from 800 kg. a sun stone that works wonders and has a beneficial effect on health. You can also see the Amber Tree and the Knight of the Teutonic Order, purchase amber products from the manufacturer and have a bite to eat in the cafe. Young visitors are given the opportunity to try themselves in the role of “Amber Prospector” and independently obtain amber in a special “sandbox”. Men can try on the medieval armor of a knight, and women can put on the costume of a Prussian lady. IMPORTANT: Food and passport of the Russian Federation must be taken with you. The program is held every Thursday for national teams.
